This is an early announcement that Drive Happy will be increasing it’s prices on Monday May 30, 2011. We are getting very, very busy, and are raising our prices to attempt to curb the demand and open a few more spaces in our schedule. We are also trying to build cash reserves so that we can bring on 1 or 2 additional instructors!
These new prices only affect new customers. If you have already enrolled at our current prices, you’re price is locked in and safe. This is a great time to enroll now and save yourself some money if you have been sitting on the fence.
As of Monday May 30, 2011, or prices will be as follows:
- $80 per 90 minute lesson
- $300 for 6 hours Behind-the-Wheel (A $20 discount)
- $550 for 12 hours Behind-the-Wheel ( A $90 discount)
- $125 for our 2 Hour Drive Test Lesson
- $100 for our 2 Hour Drive Test Lesson after 6 hours of training (A $25 discount)
- $340 for On-line Driver Education & 6 hours Behind-the-Wheel (A $29.99 discount)
If you are interested in becoming a Drive Happy instructor, please send me an e-mail at email@example.com. Additional details about our available positions will be posted in the coming months. Amber and I are both very excited to be entering the next phase of Drive Happy’s growth. We’d like to thank all of our students, past and present for allowing us to make this happen.

This is a test to see if I can update the website from my phone. Don’t worry! I am not teaching, or driving. This is only a test 😉
Update: IT WORKED! That is awesome. 🙂
What a month! Let’s review the stats for August 2010
Unique Visitors: 602
Wow, a 22% increase over last year. Very nice.
Pages / Visit: 3.18
Ouch, this is a 5% decline over last year. I guess this is to be expected as the visitor rate increases. Still, just over 3 pages per visit is pretty good.
Average Time on Site: 3:34
Doh! Another small decline over last year, just over 1%. Well, we will call that a statistical anomaly. 😉
Top Traffic Sources: Search Engines 48.68%
Huh, this is the first time in a long time that search engines did not provide over 60% of visitors. Is that good, or bad?
Looks like some mixes results this month. Overall visits are up, but pages per visit and time on site are down. I’m not overly concerned, but I am going to try and tweak a few things to see if we can influence those numbers for next month.
Check back next month to see if I succeed or fail.
Another busy month at drivehappysocal.com comes to an end. Time for the stats!
Unique Visitors: 534
Our monthly traffic continues to grow at a decent pace. This is an increase of 8% over the same time period last year. Let’s dig into to those visits and see if anything interesting pops up.
Pages / Visit: 3.60
Not bad! This is a 13% increase over the same period last year. It is very nice to see that visitors are digging into the content of the site.
Average Time on Site: 4:09
Another nice indicator, and 30% increase over the same period last year. In the coming months we are going to really focus on pushing this number higher. Our website has tons on useful articles and information. We are working on a project to make this type of content more visible and easy to access.
Top Traffic Sources: Search Engines 67.21%
As expected, most visitors find us on a search engine. What is interesting is which keywords are the most popular. The top keywords are “drive happy driving school”. This shows us that many visitors have already heard about us, or seen us before running a search. The lesson learned here is that the internet is only one pillar of a successful marketing strategy.
Things look good at drivehappysocal.com. I’m going to dig deeper into the data and see how we can make it even better, but I won’t bore you with all of that. Check back next month!
Congratulations to Murrieta’s newest teen driver! This student completed our 6 Hour Basic Training program and decided to enroll in our Drive Test program as well. He took the test this morning in our car and passed with a perfect score!
I would also like to extend a late congratulations to my adult student from Menifee who passed the Drive Test last week. Her score was -7, not stellar, but very good if you consider the fact that she only took 1 basic lesson and the Drive Test program.
One final reminder to the procrastinators. Our sale on 6 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Training ends tomorrow. If your still on the fence about driving schools, now is the time to decide. 😉
I ran across this quote today from 37 signals. Check it out:
Sometimes I’m looking for a word to describe a certain kind of company. One that’s small and cares about quality and is trying to do something great for a few customers instead of trying to mass produce crap in order to maximize profit.
Sometimes you just read something that immediately makes you smile and nod your head. I’ve got 2 words that meet the above description: Drive Happy
That is exactly the kind of business that Amber and I set out to create. We are not the largest driving school. Nor are we the busiest driving school. We never wanted to be. We set out to create the best driving school.
Why? Because we have seen the alternative, and it is heart-breaking to see quality neglected for quantity.
I am proud to say that Drive Happy is the best driving school in the Inland Empire. Why? Because we care about our customers, and we love and respect our profession.
Don’t settle for just learning to drive, learn to Drive Happy!
The Drive Happy office will be closing at 12noon this Thursday (04/24/2009). We have been extremely busy, and we need a little break. As usual, we will still be available via phone and/or e-mail, and we will still be teaching driving lessons. Normal office hours will resume on Friday 04/25/2009.
Thank you, and remember to Drive Happy! 😀
I wanted to let everyone know that Josh and I will be in Calabasas, CA this weekend for the DSAC board meeting and continuing education seminar.
Q. What is the DSAC?
A. Driving School Association of California.
Q. What do they do?
A. It is a non profit organization designed to bring together driving schools from all over California, to work together to improve driver education and behind the wheel training for the public.
We are proud to be involved with organizations that strive to increase high standards for the driving school industry. At these meetings we discuss things like up and coming legislation, and how it affects our students.
I also enjoy the opportunity to meet driving instructors from all over California. Driving schools are very alike in some ways, and very different in others. Every instructor has their own style of teaching, and this is an opportunity to gather and compare notes. We also host a variety of guest speakers from the CHP, to DMV drive test examiners.
Plus it’s always a hoot to see so many student driver cars in one parking lot. =)
It has been awhile since we released our web site statistics. Â Here are some interesting results for the month of October 2008:
We set an all time visitor record last month. Â Woo hoo!
- 1,644 Pageviews
- 2.61 Pages per visit
- 2:28 Average time on site
Again, Â a new record. Â It is great to see that not only are people visiting the site, Â but they are digging into the content and viewing multiple pages.
No surprise there. . . free gas is always popular. Â Our radio campaign was a lot of fun. Â If you did not get a chance to hear our ad on the air, Â we’ve made it available for download here:
This is a respectable number. Â Obviously we’d like to see it go even higher. Â Study Hall is something that we are extremely proud of. Â How many other driving school offer a comprehensive study guide for passing the written permit test? Â Did I mention that Study Hall is absolutely free? Â What are you waiting for?
Visit Study Hall now! Â Tell your friends and family! Â Pass the permit test and get out on the road!
Alright, Â time to turn off the hype machine. Â Thank you for visiting and reading, Â we look forward to helping you, or someone that you love learn how to drive safely, Â and get a California Driver License.
